Scholarships Q&A
UPA grants scholarships to Palestinian students pursuing a bachelor or masters degree who are enrolled in Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip only. Eligible applicants must have completed at least one semester of their university studies and have a GPA of 80% or above. Students must also complete the application and have a professor provide an evaluation for him/her. (Note that the essay portion of the application is crucial.) The application is typically posted on our website sometime in January; students who are awarded a scholarship are notified in late July or early August.

My school is in the West Bank or Gaza Strip but it is not listed on the application form. How do I get my school added to the list?
If your college or university is not listed, then you will not be able to apply this year. However, if your school’s financial aid or student affairs office sends an email to us via our Contact page and sends all of the documentation we request about your university, then we may approve your school to be eligible for scholarships for the next year.

I was awarded a scholarship last year. Do I have to apply again this year?
-
I was awarded a scholarship last year, and I did not receive a scholarship this year. Why?
Students who receive a scholarship must reapply for the scholarship in subsequent years. Each year we evaluate several thousand applications using a variety of criteria. Since an awarded student's academic, financial, and personal status may change in a subsequent year or in comparison to the group of students that applies, the student who is awarded a scholarship one year may not receive it in a subsequent year.
